Impressions// “In Search of Ethical Leadership” by R.M. Lala

Leadership, Management, Politics
R.M. Lala, one of my favorite writers, explores the ethical aspect of leaderships in his book In Search of Ethical Leadership. Choosing thirteen themes with numerous instances & anecdotes Mr. Lala discuss various aspects of leadership including the profile of an ideal leader. The book concentrates on the behavioral and motivational aspects of leadership, bringing out the relationship between means and ends; i.e. the moral dimension of leadership. In the Conclusion chapter, Mr. Lala deals with the question of whether leaders possessing such attributes are successful or the application of most of their qualities even possible in today’s world. R. M. Lala studies the business leadership of Mr. J.R.D. Tata in the Afterword.

Let us go back to 2013 and understand a few events from Nitish Kumar’s perspective. Nitish Kumar wants to be a governance leader and not a political…
