I was on a day trip (business) to Zurich a few days back. I recalled that Krishna Moorthy (Krish), an old friend (and ex-colleague) was at Zurich. Time was gracious, my business meeting concluded, Krish & I could meet. Bees Saal Baad. Again! With Krish at Zurich Almost twenty years later. Bees Saal Baad, again. Krish travelled to my meeting location to take us (I had a colleague with me) to his home (40+ minutes, one way) and Jayalakshmi (his better half) prepared a lovely meal. Jayalakshmi recalled incidents - 20 years ago - of our joint past. They gave me some souvenirs to remember as we bade our goodbyes. I am humbled by the hospitality extended by Krish & Jayalakshmi. Bees Seal Baad translated literally means Twenty Years, Later! During my recent visit to the USA, I got an opportunity to meet Prasanna (an ex-colleague). A good twenty years later. And, Prasanna used a Hindi (Bollywood) movie title of yesteryears to remind us that we were meeting after twenty years. We spent a good time visiting our joint past. A common thing that we shared was our cherished association with HP OpenView. Both of us were certified on this product in our respective functional areas. And, during my sales days of yore, I had a few HP OpenView customers to my credit. On my return and to my surprise, I found a souvenir of HP OpenView. A T-Shirt. A new chapter of my life begins in 2019.

I celebrated my 50th birthday in 2018. And, our daughter gifted a Fitbit that she bought from her monies, earned as an intern. That day, it dawned on me that a new chapter of my life begins in 2019. 2018 was a milestone year. Two other events, across different generations of my family, make 2018 a milestone year. i. A new chapter opens in our daughter's life in 2019. Our daughter, Svikriti Kasichainula, graduated as an Engineer (ECE) from Rutgers University in 2018. Migrating to a faraway town, city, or country for education is a centuries-old phenomenon. But, the societal cultures of India continue to negotiate with this reality because of their deep-emotional bonding. And a child forever remains a child, to the parents of these cultures.
